The area around the Nackawic Marina on the Mactaquac Headpond is great for a day paddle. The Town of Nackawic has a municipal launch with kayak rentals available. From the marina, you could head off in any direction, we suggest one of two main loops. Head south along the riverbank for a down and back 5.6 km (2.8 km each down way) for a hearty meal at the Big Axe Brewery, which has its own dock along the river; Or head northwest into the Nackawic Stream for an up and back 8km (4 km each way) loop.
